As I said here, we, designers, are often faced with the issue of how to keep renewing ourselves. How can we find our own style without doing same things over and over again?
Last year, we won with Mute, a tender of 3 motion graphics videos for Boiron and they asked us to come up with styleframes that will closely fit their graphic guidelines. We had to respect not only the fonts and colors brandbook, but also the artistic brand's point of view.
So I thought myself, how would I manage to create a beautiful composition using character design, drawing, watercolor, pencils... In fact all the tools I'm not really comfortable with! I was submerged by my loyal worst enemy: doubt. But at the same time, I was so excited!
I gathered up my courage and thought: "Ok, this is why you have chosen this job, right?" And as I was progressively come up with something, I once again experienced how great it feels to challenge yourself. The best part: as I looked at my pictures, I realized that there was more of myself in it than I would have imagined!
Just get of your comfort zone and free yourself from stress! :)
